Andy Stevens

Lieutenant Andy Stevens was a British officer during World War II in the Royal Navy Reserve. He was the original leader of the team sent to Navarone to destroy the German guns there. While gaining access to the island by climbing a steep cliff, Stevens slipped and hurt his leg badly, forcing Keith Mallory to take over as leader. He remained with the group for some time despite his injury, but his leg began to turn gangrenous. When they were captured by the Germans, he was tortured by the cruel Captain Skoda. After they escaped, Stevens, knowing he would die from the gangrene, sacrificed himself to hold the Germans off so his companions could escape.
