Biography

Origin

Ahri'ahn

Around 45,000 years ago, he was wandering the landscape during the time the world was gripped by the Ice Age. During that time, he was confronted by Harbinger who he mistook for an enemy and attacked her but she easily resisted his magic whereupon she teleported him away with her. (Crisis on Infinite Earths v1 #1)

Modern

In 1659, he lived in Paris where he forged an identity as Vicomte Jean-Simon Giscard D'Arion with his background being the son of a deceased noble that was late of the empire's far-flung territories who had returned and bought the most luxurious estate. He became the talk of the courts and was famous for his appetites with none being aware of his true nature. During this time, he was plagued by visions of the future that spoke of the coming destruction of the planet. (Superman v1 #655)

Mordru was noted to had commandeered Arion's body and imprisoned the sorcerers soul on Gemworld thus preventing his soul from going to the afterlife. (JSA v1 #50)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

He was considered the first and greatest hero of Atlantis who was considered a friend to all as he protected his home during its earlier years. Such was his reputation that he was held as a friend of the Amazons. (Justice League v4 #10) The Legend of Arion spoke of him as an Atlantean explorer in the city's golden age who travelled to every corner of the world to spread the dream of Atlantis. He came to learn of a great secret of life on Earth and on other worlds where he decided to create a community of universal oceans from across the stars. (Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth v1 #1) Thus, he created the Clarion with the aid of Poseidon that was a kind of cosmic conch meant to call across the cosmos to other worlds that had life-filled oceans. The call was made and though some divine beings answered so did invaders which resulted in a great war being fought. (Justice League v4 #10) In this time millennia ago, the world came under the attention of elder gods made of stars called the Dark Giants who saw mortals as vermin and used for the sole purpose of amusement. The great Atlantean wizard Arion gathered the worlds mystics and built the White Gate through which the Dark Giants were banished from the planet. Great Alabaster Columns imbued with the might of every civilization served as anchors for the gate that kept these elder gods at bay. (Secret Six v4 #8) Arion thus struck the invaders down and built the defences of Atlantis that remained entrenched every since that time. (Justice League v4 #10)
