History

Drule.

The Drule controlled the powerful Drule Empire and worked to expand its interests in order to survive.

Their warfare caused destruction of the protective asteroid belt that surrounded their homeworld which resulted in ultraviolet rays rapidly destroying the planet. This started a chain of events that led to the destruction of the planet which fuelled the empire's desire to conquer a new world for their people.

When King Zarkon of Planet Doom arrested his son Prince Lotor for his repeated failures, the Drule Supreme Council convened where they discussed the ramifications of the action. They agreed with Zarkon's decision and believed that Zarkon himself would be removed as well if he failed to bring more worlds into the Empire.

Hazar commanded the Drule Empire's expansionary efforts with his forces coming into regular contact against the Galaxy Alliance that led to battles between the two sides. This came over the colonization of new worlds with the Galaxy Alliance looking to settle up new colonies whilst the Drule intending to expand their war bases. During their attack on Lycon, Hazar received word from Planet Doom Control that a Galaxy Alliance Explorer ship had entered into their territory in the Kronos Galaxy with him dispatching Captain Quark to lead the efforts at destroying these intruders.

Quark decided to prevent the Galaxy Alliance from establishing a foothold on the planet and tapping into resources leading to him launching an attack against it. The Drule managed to make planetfall but their forces were destroyed by the Voltron Force leading to Quark dispatching a Roboeast to deal with the team. Initially at an advantage, the robot monster was destroyed when the Galaxy Alliance team formed Voltron with Quark's forces suffering damage leading to their retreat back to headquarters.

In the ceasefire, Commander Brak came to grow increasingly dissatisfied by Chief-Commander Hazar's peaceful platitudes with the Galaxy Alliance. These signs of dissent led to Hazar ordering the Captain of the Guard to arrest him but Brak had prepared a coup to topple his superior from his position. Despite having Nerok's aid, he failed in eliminating Hazar who held the loyalty of the majority of commanders at the base who put down the rebellion.

As a result of Hazar's efforts, a temporary ceasefire was arranged with the Galaxy Alliance with the agreement of a joint exploration mission of a world that was to be headed by Captain Gorvan. However, this was in opposition to the Drule Empire's official policy leading to Hazar being removed from command and sent to command the dungeons on Planet Drule. Thus, Captain Nerok was placed in command to replace him where he ended the agreement for peaceful exploration. Gorvan disagreed with his orders as he wanted an end to conflict and pursue peace but ultimately was forced to relent to his superiors orders. As a result, the joint mission was abandoned and the Drule forcibly placed their claim on the planet whilst razing the surface. This led to hostilities erupting between the Explorer and the Drule fleet with a Robeast deployed to fight the Voltron Force.

Secretly, Hazar once more attempted to forge a peace treaty with the Galaxy Alliance where he sent a communique for the Explorer to meet negotiators on planet Barran. The communication was picked up by Drule interceptors with word spreading quickly among the empire. Several of his generals believed that this was a carefully orchestrated ambush for the Alliance and decided to take initiative with an attack fleet waiting in ambush. Upon learning of this, Hazar attempted to call off the Drule forces but failed to stop it in time with the Galaxy Alliance walking into the ambush. The Drule fleet attempted to stall the Voltron Force long enough until the planet exploded but their plans failed.

Overview

In appearance, members of the Drule are a Humanoid appearing species with a light purple or blueish skin and blood red eyes.

Their empire was noted for its aggressive expansion and sought to conquer other worlds in order to plunder them of their resources as well as treasures. The Drule were shown to be willing to destroy entire worlds rather than allow them to fall into another nation's hands. They were known to also enslave conquered populations and taken to their dungeons. They believed that they were all powerful and did not tolerate showing weakness to others.

There had been elements within the empire that sought to end their people's war-like ways though many of these attempts at peace failed.

Leadership of the empire was held by a person holding the title of Emperor. Other positions included the grand Viceroy and the Chancellor. Senior high ranking military officials held the title of Marshal.

A high ranking body within the Drule Empire lies in the Supreme Council.

Among their weapons were projectiles known as Magno Missiles.

Their military consisted of large number of robotic forces that were deployed in large numbers against their foes. Among the greatest weapons in their arsenals were the robotic Robeasts that were incredibly powerful war machines. These robot monsters were individually capable of destroying a planet by themselves where they came with in a variety of forms with different abilities.

While the Empire was large, it worked through others who would help incorporate worlds within its domain.
