Biography

Iroh (艾洛 Aì Luò) was a male member of the Fire Nation where he was the firstborn son of the Fire Lord Azulon and the older brother of Ozai.

Arriving at a friendly port, their ship underwent repairs with Zuko intending to keep their discovery of the Avatar a secret. They were then confronted by Commander Zhao who was suspicious over the damage to their ship. He invited the pair for tea with Iroh accepting though the meeting was simply a ruse to allow Zhao's men to interrogate the crew of Zuko's ship. Upon learning of the Avatar, Commander Zhao had Zuko and Iroh detained as he wanted to claim the glory for himself. However, Prince Zuko challenged the commander to agni kai with Iroh advising his nephew to break his opponent's base. Initially, Zuko was overwhelmed by his opponent and nearly lost but he managed to recover with him turning the tables on the commander. Zhao was defeated but Prince Zuko decided to spare his life and walked away after achieving his victory. With his back turned, Zhao then attempted to strike him but his kick was intercepted by Iroh who pushed him back. Iroh then stopped Zuko from attacking the commander as he felt it would have tainted his victory. He then commented on the disgrace of Zhao's actions and that his nephew was far more honourable then the commander who had tried to strike at his foe when their back was turned. With their victory secured, Iroh accompanied Zuko to their ship as they continued their search for the Avatar. (Episode: The Southern Air Temple)
