Jeremiah J. Cobb

Colonel Jeremiah J. Cobb was an American businessman who owned the Cobb Cereal Corporation in Florida. Due to poor sales of his company's star product, Corn Crinkles, Cobb hatched a master plan to get a leg up on the competition by hiring Professor Middlemass in England to design a machine that could control the weather so he could use it to destroy the cornfields of rival cereal corporations and thereby become "the cornflake king." Ruthless in pursuit of this goal, Cobb was willing to do anything to succeed, even kill children. After coming to England to put his plan into motion using Middlemass' machine, he was thwarted by the Tomorrow People who destroyed the machine. He was then struck by lightning when a bolt came down from the sky and hit the metal handle of his walking stick, electrocuting him. Amazingly, he survived, and was arrested by the English authorities not long after.
