Biography
Recoome (Japanese: リクーム, Hepburn: Rikūmu) (? - December 24, 762) was a male extraterrestrial being capable of manipulating ki whereupon he became a skilled fighter and mercenary. He came to join the ranks of the elite Ginyu Force led by Captain Ginyu that were part of the larger Frieza Force.
The Ginyu Force are called in by Frieza to help him on Namek. There, they find Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan trying to wish for Vegeta's immortality with the Namekian Dragon Balls. The second member of the team to take on the Z-Team, Recoome quickly proved that he was a force to be reckoned in his initial battle with Vegeta. Captain Ginyu has his men play Rock-Paper-Scissors to divvy up Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan. Recoome wins hands-down and gets to fight with Vegeta. After Guldo is defeated, Recoome and Vegeta begin their battle, with Recoome pulling off one of his battle poses just before they start. Despite Vegeta striking first, throwing Recoome into a mountain and blowing it up, and using a number of other crafty and underhanded tactics and techniques, Recoome emerges from the rubble unharmed, with only his Battle Armor being disintegrated. When the fight truly begins, Recoome dominates the battle, taking little to no damage from Vegeta's attacks apart from his hair being singed off. Able to take quite a bit of punishment, Recoome casually shrugged off everything Vegeta threw at him and ultimately took out the Saiyan prince with zero effort. Recoome manages to beat down Vegeta until he can barely stand on his feet and it is likely that Recoome would have killed Vegeta with his Eraser Gun, had Gohan and Krillin not stepped in. While Krillin kicked Recoome from behind, Gohan pulled the wounded Vegeta out of the path of Recoome's attack, in order to save him. Following this, he defeated Krillin with one swift kick.
Gohan actually lasted the longest against him, but if it hadn't been for the timely arrival of Goku armed with Senzu Beans, the boy would've surely died. Goku, who had spent every single moment of his journey to Namek in gravity training, punched Recoome once in the stomach and KO'd him. The redheaded giant was shortly thereafter finished off by Vegeta with a massive ki blast that blew him out of existence.
Recoome joined with the Ginyu Force in the Other World to attack King Kai's planet- however, they were defeated and sent to Hell (HFIL). Later, Recoome joined with the Ginyu Force (again), Frieza, King Cold, and Cell in an attempt to escape Hell, but they were defeated by Goku and Pikkon.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Recoome was an immense man with short, spiked-up red hair. He wore a green scouter on his left eye, a white Ginyu Force variant of the Battle Armor with a short black jumpsuit under it, white gloves and white boots. On one of his chestplates he has the Ginyu Force's symbol.
Recoome is the most flamboyant member of the Ginyu Force, doing poses even more than Captain Ginyu himself. He is a very comical character, betting Candy over fights and playing Rock-Paper-Scissors to see who will fight who.
Although he appears quite brutish and simple, Recoome is fairly intelligent, not to mention sadistic, taking great joy in the suffering of his foes. Unlike the other members of the Ginyu Force, Recoome's personality lingers more towards that of a dim-witted bully. This can be seen as he greatly enjoys toying with his opponents and drawing them in with taunts.
Despite his mean-streak, he seems to be very close to his comrades, especially to Guldo, as he is constantly cheering him up in battle and is shocked by his death. He is also the most ostentatious and energetic of the group; almost always striking poses and getting in other people's faces, and also seeming to never take his fights as seriously as the other members. Despite his crassness, he is somewhat effeminate, being very goofy and having practiced ballet as a child. In spite of his cruelty, he does seem to respect those who continue to fight despite the odds, as seen with his apparent admiration toward Gohan for continuing to try and take him on. Recoome also seems to like foes who fight dirty and give him some trouble, as he commented that he liked Vegeta's penchant for sneak attacks.
Powers and abilities
Though able to manipulate ki, he did not know how to sense it. As such, he had to rely on technology for this role and often wore a Scouter to detect power levels.
Recoome easily dominated a powered-up Vegeta, who at the time had a power level of 30,000, and Krillin stated that Burter and Jeice have about the same ki as Recoome. When Captain Ginyu estimates Goku's power level to be at around 60,000, Jeice exclaims that Recoome never stood a chance.
