Biography
Lena Oxton
Oxton’s path began as a high-stakes gamble for Overwatch’s aerospace division. As a vivacious and daring pilot, she stood out among her peers not just for her reflexes, but for an almost reckless optimism that made her the perfect candidate for the Slipstream project. This experimental aircraft was designed to revolutionise warfare and transport by allowing a fighter jet to 'teleport' across vast distances instantaneously. On the day of the inaugural test flight, Lena strapped into the cockpit of the prototype, but the moment she engaged the teleportation matrix, the mission turned into a catastrophe. The jet didn't just move through space; it suffered a total systemic failure that tore Lena’s molecular structure away from the standard timeline. For months, she was officially mourned as a casualty of progress, until she suddenly manifested at the Overwatch base—though she was more of a spectral entity than a human. She was unable to touch objects or speak clearly for long, existing in a state where her atoms were scattered across time, appearing and disappearing for hours or days at a stretch.
Overview
Personality and attributes
Upon joining Overwatch, she went by the callsign of Tracer.
Powers and abilities
In reality, she had been desynchronised from the flow of time; she reappeared months later, though her physical form remained a 'living ghost' that faded in and out of existence, unable to maintain a solid presence in the current moment. This condition, dubbed chronal dissociation, seemed incurable until a brilliant scientist named Winston designed the chronal accelerator. This device, anchored to her chest, functioned as an anchor that kept Lena tethered to the present while granting her the unique ability to manipulate her own personal timeline. With her newfound power to 'blink' through space and "recall" her state from seconds prior, she transitioned from a pilot to one of Overwatch’s most effective and optimistic field agents.
Her primary weapon primary weapon was a pair of pulse pistols that fired rapidly and did a lot of damage to targets.
