Carter was a researcher working in the underground Umbrella lab located beneath Raccoon City. He and fellow researcher Linda strived to invent a cure for the T-Virus, only to have their work interrupted by the escape of several Hunters. When several civilian survivors came into the lab looking for help, Carter activated and set loose a Tyrant he and Linda controlled, to aide them. Unfortunately the Tyrant soon broke free from their control and killed Carter before the others succeeded in destroying it.
