The Technis were a machine race that appeared in DC Comics Technis Imperative.
Background
The Technis cluster were electro/mechanical sentients that sought to collect knowledge throughout the galaxy. They sent one of their offspring, Zavior, to the planet Earth where it would observe the planet and attempt to digitize it in order to help restore the Technis's vitality. This was stopped by the Teen Titans and other Technis clusters but ended with the Titan member Cyborg running out of power which nearly brought about his death until the other Technis assimlated his soul allowing him to live on while giving the machines the vitality they needed.
