History

Battlestars were a class of spacecraft that was developed by the Twelve Colonies of Man.

Sometime after the war, the Colonies later produced the new Mercury class Battlestars that were outfitted with newer technologies and automation with the intention of replacing the older models. They were able to carry more support craft in the form of Vipers and Raptors with several of these ships being produced by the Colonials.
