Seeking out Ibaraki, he found him residing in a cavern on a path filled with dark statues. Once inside, he begged the aid of the monks gods in order for a cure for the princess. Ibaraki decided to comply but said that there would be a price which would be the priest Jizonobu himself. Reluctantly, he agreed and went deeper into the caves at the beckoning of Ibaraki who said that the priest would meet the monk's dark gods. After a scream was heard, he fell unconscious and was in the grips of a fever when he was discovered by the village the next day. Meanwhile, his charge the lord's young daughter came to make a miraculous recovery whilst Jizonbu was being cared for by the priests in the village. Upon regaining consciousness, he found that his body had become possessed by a black soul that murdered the person caring for him. The possessed Ji then took his yari and went on a rampage killing everyone in the temple before going out to the village. Even Lord Goyo was killed by the laughing priest where he told the man that he was not Ji and instead took on the name Jei. Jei
