Dr. Vincent Devlon was a scientist assisting Dr. Zin at Zin's volcano lair in Peru in creating synthetic gold using Leonardo Da Vinci's notes on alchemy. He got greedy however and stole the CD containing all of his and Zin's scientific notes, planning to get rich by creating all the gold for himself.
