Personality and attributes
In the field, he operated under the code name of Ajax. (Deadpool v3 #15)
Ajax was said to be an abomination of a man and that he was a being of pure rancor. Over time, he came to be primarily driven by a need for revenge where he enjoyed every second of it. (Deadpool v3 #18)
He claimed that he hated filth and as a 'cleaner' he went to purify the world. (Deadpool v3 #16) According to himself, he could not sit still for long when performing his duty which was 'cleaning'. Originally, he used to perform this desire when working for the Department but afterwards he did it to sate his own whims and desires. (Deadpool v3 #17)
To those he had captured, he was noted to torture to get what he wanted from them. This was to the point that he intended for them to betray their own grandmothers in order to stop the pain inflicted on them. He never tortured a person to kill them as he preferred for them to rest afterwards so that he could continue his torture of them all over again. (Deadpool v3 #17)
Ajax was acquainted with Dr. Killebrew with the two having worked together in the Weapon X program. In fact, he had stated that the doctor was responsible for 'building' him into his current form. (Deadpool v3 #17)
He noted that he never thought of what he would do after killing Deadpool. (Deadpool v3 #18)
Powers and abilities
Dr. Killebrew once inserted a spinal tap into Ajax that could be activated with the trigger. (Deadpool v3 #18)
In the field, he was noted to had once worn a titanium-laced body armour to protect him. Part of the equipment included advanced optical sensors which could detect traps. (Deadpool v3 #19)

- In Deadpool, Francis as Ajax appeared in the setting of the live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Ed Skrein. He was a former patient at an underground facility that performed experiments on people to trigger Mutant genes so that they could be sold as superhuman slaves. In this role, he was the scientist responsible for receiving and torturing Wade Wilson when he was brought to the laboratory. At the Workshop, he tortured Wade Wilson to activate his mutant genes and sell him as a super slave. However, Wade escapes and seeks revenge after the torture leaves him disfigured. After Wade corners and injures him, Francis escapes when Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead distract his attacker. He and his partner Angel Dust later retaliate by kidnapping Wade's girlfriend Vanessa Carlysle. Wade, Colossus, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead confront Francis, Angel Dust, and their team in a scrapyard, where Wade kills Francis.
