Culex (Super Mario Bros)

Culex was the Dark Knight of Venda, sent from another galaxy to investigate the Mushroom Kingdom as a potential conquest. When he determined that his race could not survive in their environment, he waited in Monstro Town for a knight to challenge him in a duel, so he would have a great memento of his visit. Mario met the challenge, and with his friends, defeated the alien, despite its awesome powers and four elemental crystals. Culex gave Mario the Quartz Charm as a prize, then left for home.
