Biography
Kevin Sydney was a male human Mutant who had been born in the modern age on Earth-616.
He divulged to Professor X that he was suffering from an unspecified terminal illness with only a few months left to live and wished to atone for his misdeeds. Professor X recruited Changeling to act as a stand-in, unbeknownst to the X-Men, while the Professor isolated himself to prepare a defense against the alien Z'Nox's invasion. (X-Men v1 #65)

Personality and attributes
He came to operate under the name of Changeling. (X-Men v1 #35) It was shown that he had also operated under the code name of Morph. (X-Men Adventures v1 #1)
Powers and abilities
Changeling was a mutant with the ability to alter his physical appearance at will to resemble that of any person he chose. He could psionically alter the formation of his biological cells at will. As a result he can cause himself to look and sound like an exact duplicate of any human, humanoid, or semi-humanoid being of either sex, wearing virtually any kind of clothing.

- His popularity grew as a result of the animated television series where he was reinvented as Morph by writer Mark Edward Edens.
