Alectryon

Alectryon was an unlucky youth in Greek myth who was assigned to guard a room where Ares and Aphrodite trysted. He fell asleep at his post, allowing the sun god Helios to walk in on them and interrupt. An angry Ares turned Alectryon into a rooster, which thereafter always announces the arrival of the sun in the morning.
