Bail Organa

Bail Organa was the senator represented Alderaan in the Galactic Senate after Bail Antilles' term ended. He and his wife were childless but had always wanted a daughter. During the years leading up to the Clone Wars, Senator Organa was a strong opponent of the Military Creation Act alongside Senator Padme Amidala, and was against granting Supreme Chancellor Palpatine emergency powers.

Later, when Palpatine was revealed as Darth Sidious and turned the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Organa helped Yoda escape from Sidious. When Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader and Padme died in childbirth, Bail and his wife were given custody of a young Leia by Obi-Wan Kenobi. They would remain her adoptive parents until the Death Star destroyed Alderaan years later.
