Biography

During the creation of the existence, there was a figure known as the World Forger charged to hammer Universes out of the fears and hopes of every living beings in the Multiverse in a place called the World Forge, a place of pure possibly deep in the dark beneath creation. The most stable Universes roses into the Orrery of Worlds and Barbatos was created by the World Forger to assist him by consuming the deformed Universes that were unstable.

However, Barbatos wished to be free of this role, and killed the World Forger when he abdicated his own duties. As a result, the deformed Universes that were unstable proliferated, populating the realm in which the World Forge lay with timelines that were all slightly off in their premise, resulting eventually in hell on their various iterations of Earth. Collectively, the Universes within the vicinity of the World Forge came to be referred to as the Dark Multiverse.

In some point, Barbatos succeeded to enter Earth Prime at the dawn of man thanks to the secret efforts of the deity's worshipers and almost conquered its people but was repelled from Earth Prime by Hawkman and Hawkgirl at the cost of their own lifes. However, before his defeat, Barbatos came across Batman when he saw him fall through time and took interest in him on account of the binding of Batman's very existence to the repeating patterns of the history of Earth. Thus, he spawned a plot to use Batman as a "foundation" for his entry into Earth Prime.
