He gifted his great-grandchild a talisman of the Bison Cult claiming that he hoped it would make John Ravenhair embrace the heritage of his ancestors. Whilst his grandson was leading the tour of the exhibit, Bison-Black-As-Midnight-Sky conducted his ritual to link his soul to John Ravenhair. During the spell, two thieves killed the old shaman's body with the ritual transforming John Ravenhair into Black Bison. Origin

Bison-Black-as-Midnight-Sky was a male Native American who lived as a shaman and part of the Bison Cult that were an inter-tribe fraternity that first came into being in the late 1800s. As he grew to adulthood, he ad children who had children of their own with this eventually leading to a great-grandchild who was named Black-Cloud-In-Morning.
