Biography

Origin

Cameron Chase

Director Bones was displeased that Martian Manhunter was able to infiltrate the D.E.O. and gave Chase the job of uncovering every one of Manhunter s human identities. (Martian Manhunter v2 #6) Chase continued her investigation of Karen Smith's murder and contacted the JLA, demanding their files on Martian Manhunter. (Martian Manhunter v2 #8) Chase broke into John Jones office an found a complete list of Martian Manhunter s human identities, a peace offering he gave to Karen Smith before she died. She interviewed Fire to learn more about Manhunter. Chase pretended to be a magazine columnist until she d gotten all the info she needed from Fire. When she revealed she was investigating Manhunter for the D.E.O., Fire told her she d just made an enemy. (Martian Manhunter v2 #10) The D.E.O. started tailing Martian Manhunter s various identities, and Chase set up a meeting between Manhunter and Bones. Manhunter refused to go to work for the D.E.O. so Bones made Chase call a press conference and reveal Manhunters various identities to the world. There was huge fallout because Manhunter helped so many in his secret identities, and the D.E.O. placed the blame on Chase, claiming she acted without authorization. Chase told Manhunter she d left out revealing some of his identities because she had a feeling Bones made her do the conference for plausible deniability sake, and she was also honoring her father, who Manhunter worked with in the Justice Experience. (Martian Manhunter v2 #17) Bones called Chase to warn her that Dr. Trapp had escaped prison and was gunning for her. Trapp broke into her house and told her he regretted not killing her when she was a child. Martian Manhunter incapacitated Trapp, but Chase was ready to shoot him in cold blood until Manhunter convinced her to rise above her pain. (Martian Manhunter v2 #36)

Chase and the D.E.O. were keeping tabs on Gorilla Grodd in Africa, and Chase made lots of talking monkey jokes about Grodd. She spoke to Flash to learn more about Grodd, and he warned Chase that Grodd was a monster and not to be underestimated. When Grodd started a base in Florida the D.E.O. went after him, even though Chase warned them that all the information from Africa wasn't in. The next day she received Mossad intel that Grodd used a bacterial agent to decimate an African village. She tried to contact the D.E.O. agents after Grodd, but most of them had been killed before Grodd s capture. (Flash Secret Files v1 #3)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Afterwards, she was in Paris on a holiday when she was tracked down by Director Bones who had a meeting with her. He had the D.E.O. re-instituted and wanted Chase back with the agency to help tackle the dangers posed by the Multiverse. Reluctantly, she came to accept the offer rather than make an enemy of Bones. (Infinite Frontier v1 #1) She then arranged a meeting with the Justice League at the Hall of Justice but found that Superman and Batman were hiding things from her which included the mysterious disappearance of Wonder Woman. Agent Chase was then sent to recruit Captain Atom into their ranks where she managed to uncover that he was not the real Nathaniel Adams but rather a version of him from another world in the Multiverse. He then came to detonate himself rather than allow himself to be captured as he revealed that a grave threat was coming to the Multiverse. (Infinite Frontier v1 #2)
