History

Camp Hammond was a base that was located in the United States of America. (Avengers: The Initiative v1 #1) Originally, it was a S.H.I.E.L.D. base that was located in Arizona. (Civil War v1 #6) After the passing of the Superhuman Registration Act, it was mandatory for all superheroes to be registered and undergo formal training in the use of their powers. Thus, Camp Hammond was established as a place for people to undergo Avengers basic training that included combat, first aid and superhuman ethics. Upon passing, the hero would have their registration card upgraded and obtain a full hero's license where the best would be added into one of the superhero teams in the 50-State Initiative.
