Biography
Origin
Cassandra Lang was the daughter of Scott Lang and Peggy Rae. (Avengers v3 #62)
She was born with an aorta growing inward thus blocking blood flow due to the tissue thin-membrane. The heart condition affected her and led to Cassie having to be in hospital where her father paid for bills with her condition seemingly being untreatable. (Marvel Premiere v1 #47)
Stature
Cassie told her mother that she was going to school though in reality she went to Stark Industries in order to meet Tony Stark so that she could find out how her father had died. The staff told her that he was busy with Cassie deciding to wait in the reception for him. Her mother came at the scene where she was angry at her daughter for lying to her with the argument causing Peggy to be tearful at Cassie's comments to her. It was then that Cassie's stepfather Blake Burdick arrived on the scene whilst on duty where he intended to forcibly take her to school. This led to an argument where Cassie shouted at her stepfather leading to Peggy slapping her daughter and telling her never to speak in such a tone to him. An angry Cassie then decided to run away from home that night but saw on television the activities of a band of young heroes with her wanting to join them. (Young Avengers Special v1 #1) Cassie went to the hospital nearby an incident and found Kate Bishop where she went out to find the Young Avengers at Avengers Mansion. She was joined by Kate where they encountered the other young heroes where she wanted to get her fathers equipment and join the team. However, Patriot refused and an angry Cassie desperately pleaded as this was all she had left after her father died with her innate power caused her to grow in size. (Young Avengers v1 #2) The site was later attacked by Kang who convinced the Avengers that Iron Lad needed to return to his future or time itself would fall apart. He was in the process of sending his younger self when Cassie intervened by pushing Kang into the portal. Iron Lad then helped save Cassie from falling into the portal where she kissed him. She then assisted her team in battling Kang when he returned to get his younger self to his rightful place in the timestream. (Young Avengers v1 #5)
Jonas took Cassie to a summons at the remains of Avengers Mansion when Wiccan had sensed a mystical disturbance that would become a threat on a global level. Upon arriving, the pair found their team mates petrified but they managed to evade the magical corruption with them being teleported away by the Scarlet Witch. They were gathered to join a team of Avengers that were being assembled and led by Hank Pym that sought to stop this crisis. (Mighty Avengers v1 #21)
Stinger
She later decided to secretly on a date with a boy which she kept a secret from her father. During that moment, Earth was invaded by the forces of the Dark Council during their War of the Realms. This saw the Frost Giants claiming North America with Florida falling under their dominion. Cassie went undercover during this time when she learnt that the giants began rounding up the women where she decided to let herself be captured to find out about their operations. It was then learnt that the Frost Giants had captured their progenitor Ymir and were removing parts of his flesh that bore new primal Ice Giants for their army with this being overseen by Karla Sofen in exchange for her survival. At the time, her father along with three other size-shifting heroes had been dispatched by Freyja to destroy Ymir to stem the Frost Giants forces. Cassie then went into action where she helped free the captives with Karla ultimately siding with the heroes as they freed Ymir from his imprisonment whereupon he departed Midgard. (Giant-Man v1 #3)
Overview
Personality and attributes
After her father died, she wanted to honour his legacy and become Ant-Girl. (Young Avengers v1 #3) Ultimately, she decided to take on the name of Stature when she was part of the Young Avengers. (Young Avengers v1 #6)
For a time, she was cared for by her aunt Ruth who was her fathers sister. (Marvel Premiere v1 #47)
After her dad, the Avenger she most looked up to was Janet van Dyne who was the Wasp due to her being both a girl as well as a size changer. (Mighty Avengers v1 #21)
Whilst with the Young Avengers, she was shown to had kissed Iron Lad in a moment of passion after he saved her. (Young Avengers v1 #5)
Powers and abilities
After being kidnapped several times, her mother made sure that Cassie was trained in self-defense classes. (Young Avengers v1 #2)
For childhood, she had been stealing the Pym Particles from her father which she used with this having an effect on her by the time she was 15 years old when she could innately increase her size at will. (Young Avengers v1 #3) Similarly, she could reduce her size allowing her to shrink thus having all the abilities of her father. (Young Avengers v1 #5)
