Animated series assembled by Harmony Gold from three Japanese animated series - Macross, Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada. Aired in syndication, the intertwined stories contained enough complexity to create a fan following, leading to a failed attempt at an original series, Robotech II: The Sentinels. The universe was imbellished with a long-running series of novels, as well as a role-playing game produced by Palladium. There are also comic books based on the universe.
