Biography

"Charger" was once a Kane-Ra who was somehow transformed into a bipedal being capable of speech and sentient thought. He was eventually recruited into the Dark Hunters and given his current codename. The leader of the Dark Hunters, the Shadowed One, took note of Charger's immense strength and thus sent him on missions where he would have to face a large number of foes. Despite the overwhelming odds Charger often found himself up against, he succeeded every time.

Shortly before the reawakening of Mata Nui, Charger was sent to recapture or eliminate a group of Matoran laborers who had escaped from Odina.

When the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, Charger and the other surviving Dark Hunters emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Like most living beings native to the Matoran Universe, Charger is a biomechanical lifeform whose body consists of both organic and metallic protodermis. Though he is now a sentient being, Charger still retains the reckless instinct of his Kane-Ra self and would prefer to charge straight into battle rather than attempt to be stealthy or obey any kind of strategic plan. He also has a violent hatred of all Rahi, especially Muaka, owed to the natural rivalry between the Kane-Ra and the Muaka species.

Powers and abilities

Aside from his immense physical strength, Charger is armed with sharp blades on his arms and an axe stolen from a Toa that can absorb an opponent's Elemental Energy and hurl it back at them.

Notes

  • The Charger model was created by Thane Ratliff, known on BIONICLE fansite BZPower as "J.T.Silversmith", and entered into the LEGO Magazine Dark Hunter Building Contest in 2005. Charger was one of the winning entries and was subsequently given an official storyline role by Greg Farshtey and put into the BIONICLE: Dark Hunters guidebook.
