- Chun-Li was created by Akira "Nin-Nin" Nishitani where she featured in the Street Fighter universe.

Television
- In Street Fighter, Chun-Li featured in the setting of the 1996 animated television series where she was voiced by actor Donna Yamamoto.
- In Street Fighter II V, Chun-Li appeared in the setting of the 1997 anime series where she was voiced by Japanese actor Chisa Yokoyama in the original version whilst Lia Sargent reprises her role in the English dub. She was shown initially as the 15 year old daughter of Inspector Do-Rai who was a police chief in Hong Kong that taught her martial arts.
Films
- In Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Chun-Li appeared in the 1994 anime film where she was voiced by Japanese actor Miki Fujitani in the original version and by actor Lia Sargent in the English dub. She was shown as investigating the activities of M. Bison's Shadowlaw organization over the suspected murdering of several diplomats. This saw her requesting to work with Guile who initially balked at the idea of wanting to pursue Bison himself though the pair eventually become inseparable on their assignment.
