After the seeming deaths of Tony Stark and Reed Richards, their respective schematics and materials fell into the custody of Damage Control with their rights being contested. (House of X v1 #1)

Overview

The corporate entity traditionally operated in the role of quarantine and repair/rebuilding. However, it also operated as an archival unit for government contested metahuman machinery and technology that belonged to either missing, incapacitated or deceased individuals. In this role, they acted in situations where there was no clear chain of custody or where the items posed an existential threat to the United States. (House of X v1 #1)
