Biography

Origin

The ghostly Daniel with his brother Jericho in Strange Tales v1 #169.

Daniel Drumm

Sorcerer Supreme

With his brother in New Orleans, Daniel often appeared to him and commented that he was wasting his talent by staying with his girlfriend. Jericho disagreed with him which was when the pair were visited by the Eye of Agamotto where the spirit of the Ancient One came before them to offer them the role of Sorcerer Supreme. Daniel urged his brother to accept it and Jericho did where he came to replace Doctor Strange in the role of mystical defender. He then assisted his brother as they battled a Dormammu-possessed Hood alongside the New Avengers where with the assistance of Daimon Hellstrom and Doctor Strange they were able to banish the demon thus defeating the threat. Stephen Strange then took Brother Voodoo with him in order to train him for his new role as Sorcerer Supreme. (New Avengers v1 #54)

Whilst being lost in the Light Dimension, Daniel came upon a battle between Agamotto and Wolverine with this part of the sorcerers duel made by Jericho over the Eye of Agamotto. Daniel decided to aid his brother and intervened in the fight this breaking the terms of the challenge. As a result, the wrathful Agamotto turned his full might against both Wolverine and Daniel where he nearly killed the pair. To save everyone, Brother Voodoo sacrificed himself and the Eye of Agamotto thus destroying the two in order to seemingly kill Agamotto himself. Thus, with his sacrifice was the world saved but Daniel grew mad at the loss of his brother. He survived the encounter by returning to Earth and possessed Luke Cage where he intended to kill Doctor Strange as he blamed him along with the Avengers for the death of Jericho. Daniel was forced from Cage's body but vowed that he would make the heroes pay for his brothers demise. (New Avengers v2 #6) He then worked in secret to bring about the downfall of the New Avengers with him possessing Victoria Hand and using her body to kill various sorcerers such as Jennifer Kale along with Daimon Hellstrom. Through Hand, he took possession of various people at Avengers Mansion where he framed the team for the death of the sorcerers along with an FBI agent. Around this time. Doctor Strange came to find the truth of Drumm's scheme within the astral plane with Victoria Hand dying during the battle between the pair on the mental plane. (New Avengers v2 #32) He came to possess various people in order to frame Stephen Strange for the deaths and took over the bodies of the Avengers which Daniel used in his mad scheme at revenge. It was then that Strange came to realise that Drumm had killed the other sorcerers because they were wielders of the dark arts that was the only means of fighting him. Thus, Strange opened himself up to the black magic and used it to kill Drumm's spectral form which ended the threat he posed to the world. (New Avengers v2 #34)

Return

Though seemingly dead, he along with his brother were seemingly resurrected through the aid of Doctor Doom. (Avengers & X-Men: AXIS v1 #8)

The arrangement led to him gaining his body but his sect in the Hand was taken over by the sorcerer Kulan Gath. As a result, he was forced to flee from them where he came to be captured by Doctor Strange. He took the captive Daniel into the Swamps of Ogun where Strange intended to offer him to Kalfu. However, the spectral being refused the offering as Daniel's soul was tainted by the resurrection ritual of the Hand. This led to Elektra killing his body thus cleansing the stain on his soul and making him into a ghost once more. Thus, he was forced to work off his debt whilst they were in the crossroads as he was joined to his brother Jericho once more as the heroes gathered to combat the threat of Kulan Gath. (Savage Avengers v1 #12)
