Biography

Din Djarin was a male human who lived in the galaxy far, far away. As a child, he and his family were present during the Clone Wars where their world was attacked by Battle Droids. In desperation, his family hid him in a shelter and were killed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems when they invaded the planet. Battle Droids killed many of the people and one was prepared to kill him when he was saved by Mandalorian warriors. One of them took the child with him to safety and the orphaned boy was given a place among the Mandalorians as a 'foundling'. As he grew, he was inducted into the ways of the people and joined the reclusive sect known as 'the Tribe'.

From him, he came to learn of a possible Mandalorian on Tatooine and headed to the desert world. Landing at Mos Eisley, he met with Peli Motto and had her droids tend to his ship whilst he was away on his quest. The Mandalorian asked the mechanic about the location of Mos Pelgo where she revealed that it had been wiped from official maps. She then gave him directions to the town and provided him a speeder for the journey to Mos Pelgo.

The Mandalorians then removed their helmets where he came to believe they were not true members of his kind. However, the leader was the former ruler of Mandalore by the name of Lady Bo-Katan Kryze where she led a group of warriors in fighting against the Imperial remnants so that she could retake their homeworld. She also revealed that Djarin's beliefs were based on those of the zealots of the Children of the Watch. Despite this being the case, she had need of the Mandalorian mercenary though he was not interested in helping her as he instead had a duty to the Child. He returned to port where the Quarren who directed him to the trawler emerged where he wanted revenge for the death of his brother and friends. A gang of dockworkers surrounded Djarin but he was aided by the arrival of Lady Bo-Katan Kryze and her warriors who eliminated the Quarren. She once again asked for his aid but Djarin stated that he was questing to return the Child to the Jedi. Lady Bo-Katan then revealed that she knew a Jedi and would direct him to one in exchange for his aid. The mission was to target an Imperial Gozanti-class transport carrying weapons away from this world.

Arriving on Corvus, he made his way to the local town that was under the rule of Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth where she wanted to hire the Mandalorian to deal with a Jedi plaguing her operations. She offered a spear of beskar as payment for the completion of the task. Djarin then travelled to the forest where he was attacked by the Jedi who turned out to be Ahsoka Tano with Din stating that he never took the job. Instead, he stated that he had sought her out as he was quested to the bring the Child her. Using the Force, she sensed the Child's feelings and stated that the Mandalorian's charge was named Grogu. He was a youngling who was with the Jedi Order by the time of the Clone Wars and trained under numerous masters before being lost. The bounty hunter wanted to leave the child with Ahsoka but she came to notice Grogu's connection to Djarin. This connection she felt could turn the child to the dark side with her having seen such an event in the past. She then planned to free the town from the tyranny of the Magistrate with the Mandalorian offering to help her in exchange for training Grogu. The two then struck the town where the two of them succeeded in killing the Magistrate's forces thus saving the enslaved townspeople. Djarin then wanted to leave Grogu with Ahsoka for training but she felt she could not teach the youngling as he had much fear in him. The bounty hunter wanted her to abide by the terms of their deal where she told him to go to the planet Tython. She then said that if the child wanted to continue to use the Force then he would reach out to the temple on the planet which could call a Jedi that might train Grogu. The two then parted ways but not before Ahsoka gave Djarin the spear of beskar as she felt that it belonged to a Mandalorian.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Djarin's features were hidden behind the distinctive T-visored Mandalorian helmet he wore in the field. His true name was not known by many people with most referring to him as the Mandalorian.

The trauma of seeing his family killed by Battle Droids had led to him developing a hatred for all droids.

Per the tenets of the Mandalorian Creed, he did not remove his helmet when in the presence of others. Such a view was not shared by other Mandalorians and in fact it was said to be a trait among the religious zealots of the Children of the Watch.

Powers and abilities

As a Mandalorian, he wore a suit of beskar armour that protected him from harm.

The Armorer later equipped him with the whistling bird weapon in his vambrace that allowed him to shoot out micro-munitions that targeted select enemies around him.

He later came to use a jetpack that afforded him a great deal of manoeuvrability by providing him flight capabilities.

On the Razor Crest, he maintained an arsenal of weapons behind locked doors that contained everything from easy-to-conceal blasters to thermal detonators.
