Biography

The Doctor (Japanese: 博士, Hepburn: Dokuta) was a male human born at some point prior to World War II where he came to serve in Nazi Germany. During this time, he came to serve as a scientist for the Major and served in his special projects division.

This saw him being stationed at the Warsaw Order 666 camp where he tried to understand the mechanics behind the creation of vampires.

It was shown that he was responsible for saving the Major's life from his injuries.

After Mina's death, he had her body exhumed and used to start his experiments in creating artificial vampires. The process was noted to had gone on for years until he perfected the art of mass producing them.

In this time, he had an influx of Russian war prisoners that he began to use as living guinea pigs for his experiments. Despite his genius and supply of test subjects, he was only able to create ghouls rather than vampires. Furthermore, these ghouls lasted less than four hours before their metabolism became unstable. The vast majority of those that took part in the surgeries and serums simply died in the process. Though flawed, the Major was delighted with this development and though imperfect he could imagine the possible warfare applications of such weapons.

He was alongside the Major as they watched Integra Hellsing and Enrico Maxwell discuss the return of Millennium. Afterwards, he, the Major and the Captain were remotely viewing the fight between Alucard and Tubalcain Alhambra in Rio de Jainero. He nervously bit his fingers as he was ordered to trigger Alhambra's self-destruct rather than risk Millennium's secrets falling into the hands of Alucard. The Doctor then participated in Millennium's assault on London as the Letztes Battallion was deployed into the city. During this time, he was tasked by the Major with converting Walter C. Dornez into an artificial vampire though the Doctor had misgivings over how the procedure was rushed as it was a flawed operation.

He was seen arguing with Walter about how useless he was, that one day he will overthrow and defeat Alucard and that he's being a failed experiment. Doc tries to press a button from his remote to kill Walter. However, Walter uses his wires and cuts off Doc's arm and leg, making him fall to the ground and ripping the blanket off SHE, revealing that she was Mina Harker, who Alucard, as Dracula, forced her to drink his blood. Doc had, years after Mina's death, exhumed her body and used it to start his experiments in perfecting the Vampire mass-production project, hoping that, one day, Millennium would be able to defeat Alucard (or as Walter said "trying to imitate him"). The Doc, not long after that revelation, was buried under a large heap of falling debris, killing him instantly.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, the Doctor was a male human who usually appeared dressed in a perpetually bloodstained white labcoat, an unusual shirt which revealed his lower torso, and glasses with an assortment of adjustable, multilensed spectacles. Though his real name was unknown, he came to also be known as the Grand Professor (グランドプロフェッツォル, Gurandopurofettsuoru?) or simply as the Doctor (博士, Hakase?).

He was shown as being unstable and eccentric yet undeniably brilliant.

The Doctor greatly respected his boss and was one of the few who truly understood him. The Professor greatly respects his boss and is one of the few who truly understands him. The Professor fears The Major and often frets about his works, but The Major is all the same impressed by his talents and ingenious works. At first fearful, as seen in The Dawn, the relationship between the two develops and The Major became The Professor's closest friend over the next several decades when they and the battalion escaped from Germany. During the conclusion of WW2, The Major was shot and beaten up in a fruitless defense against The Soviets in Berlin and was rescued by The Professor, who is implied to have also given his boss his cyborg body. The Major never underestimates him and the two share a lust for war, bloodshed, and violence. However, unlike The Major and most of the Millennium members, The Professor planned to live rather than seek death and believes his work will benefit humanity in contrast to his boss's wish for an absolute war. He teases The Major when he misses all 8 shots when attempting to execute a German Navy ally for insubordination and the two share the same sense of humor. He was also genuinely very concerned for The Major when he stood on top of the zeppelin commanding the army as his boss was putting himself in great danger, telling him to come back inside. He essentially became mortified when an Iscariot helicopter was about to shoot his boss with a mounted rocket launcher, begging him to get back inside the zeppelin's safety while dodging scraps of metal before a rejuvenated Walter saved the situation.

Schrödinger was created by The Professor and the two share a father-son relationship. He and the cat boy constantly argue with one another and emulates a mad scientist reputation. As they both enjoy war and excitedly anticipated for Walter and Alucard to fight near the end of the series, the two have much in common. The two watch in glee at the violence of London on top of The Major's zeppelin as their boss commands the Last Battalion as if it were an orchestra. Though Schrödinger was his creation, the two were almost always shown to be constantly arguing with one another.

Powers and abilities

As a member of Millennium, he served as their top scientist where he was responsible for many of their projects. It was his research that led to the creation of an army of Nazi vampires army created from 1,000 volunteers in the Letztes Battalion. Hirano had stated that he created Schrödinger, which goes well with his 'mad scientist' reputation.
