Later on, Thor came to experience a weakening in the enchantment around his hammer and was reminded of the time when he shared a body with Donald Blake. He believed that perhaps switching with Blake once again would allow him to enter into the elder-sleep where he could consult the spirits of the old kings of Asgard and seek their advice. To accomplish this, he asked his brother Loki to perform the ritual allowing for Blake to switch with Thor after so many years. Upon arriving, the crazed Blake then immediately attacked Loki and wounded him whereupon he snapped his walking stick as he had no intention of returning to the other world again thus trapping Thor in that land. (Thor v6 #9) Making his way into Asgard, he ripped the pages of the Book of Kings and inspected the armoury when he was confronted by the Asgardians. With his newfound power, Blake was easily capable of besting them and use his skills as a surgeon to leave them all critically injured. He then took the sword of the Bifrost guardian Sif and opened a doorway to Dimension Blood where he banished the Asgardians to that far off realm. Donald Blake then decided to shave and appear as he once used to be where he sought out Jane Foster. (Thor v6 #10) He then proceeded to have dinner with her as the two caught up where he hid the nature of his recent return. In this time, he inquired about the whereabouts of Odin as he could not find him with Jane revealing that she was on bad terms with the All-Father during her time as Thor. This surprised Blake who was unaware of this development and left their meal as he decided to end the lineage of Thor. He began by targeting Red Norvell and killing him leaving his body mutilated where it was sent to the morgue with Jane finding the remains. Blake then proceeded for another person empowered by the magic of Thor which was Throg the frog of thunder where the two were engaged in battle. (Thor v6 #11)

This world was buried deep within the bowels of the World Tree itself where it was guarded and hidden by deep as well as unbreakable magics forged in the fire of Odin's own will. (Thor v6 #9)

- In Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme, a Dr. Donald Blake was called out on the speakers at the hospital where Stephen Strange was being treated after the accident that damaged his hands.
- In the film Thor, the character does not make an appearance but was mentioned in the story. Blake was shown to be a normal human being who was a doctor and separate individual from Thor. He was said to had been in a relationship with Jane Foster but the two had broken up. Foster claimed that Donald was a great doctor but bad in relationships with him leaving his T-Shirt at her place. When Thor came to Midgard, he encountered Jane Foster and stayed with her where she gave him a shirt to wear which was Donald Blake's. When Thor was captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Dr. Erik Selvig claimed that Thor was his friend Donald Blake in order to get him released by making them think he was an ordinary civilian.
