By the 30th century, a female criminal named Sarya of Vengar came to follow a map about the Crypt of the Eye. Once there, she gained control of the Emerald Eye and named herself the Emerald Empress. Using its power, she seized control of her world in a few short hours and declared herself its ruler. (Adventure Comics v1 #352)
