History

The Empire of the Rising Sun was an imperialistic nation formed in Japan. By the time of the Third World War, the Empire extended to Oahu in the mid-Pacific. Spurred by Emperor Yoshiro's vision of "divine destiny" and global hegemony, the Empire undertook a significant expansion of its armed forces prior to the war. The Allies and Soviets estimated the Empire's resources as greatly inferior to their own.

The Empire made its first moves in the Pacific with them eliminating both the rival Moon Clan and the Allied presence in the Bonin Islands. Following this event, the Soviet Union became interested in the Empire's psychic research and sought to kidnap one of the Empire's earliest psionic commandos, Izumi. In response, a skillful Imperial commander leads a team into the USSR where they rescued Izumi and destroyed the Soviet psychic research facilities. Enraged by the Soviets, Izumi slaughtered the soldiers and inhabitants in Sochi. Shocked by the recent events, the Allies sent a massive fleet to the Pacific in order to pacify the fledging Empire. However, Izumi and the new Psionic Decimator allowed the Imperial forces to eliminate the Allied fleet thus cementing the Rising Sun's control in the far east.

Imperial strategy then looked to take advantage of circumstances generated by the war between the Allies and the Soviet Union. The concentration of Soviet forces in Western Europe was an opportunity not to be missed. The Imperial bid for world domination opened with an offensive on the relatively poorly defended eastern territories of the Soviet Union. Emperor Yoshiro waited until the Allies expended themselves pushing the Soviets out of Western Europe before announcing the Empire's ambitions to the world. The deployment of floating fortresses into the North Sea and western Mediterranean to force European submission coincided with the announcement.

Overview

Government

In appearance, the Empire was based around Japan and consisted of an Imperialistic government with the Emperor serving as the supreme ruler of the Empire. His Imperial family would serve as the heir to the throne with a Prince being a possible successor to the Emperor. Among its people, the Emperor was seen as a divine and godly figure to the people of the Empire.

Beneath the Emperor was the Shogunate consisting the leaders of the Empire's military forces who were led by the Supreme Shogun.

Noted business conglomerates that operated out of the Empire included:

  • Shirada Shipworks :
  • Tenzai Robotics :
  • Ten-Shi Zaibatsu :

Military

The Imperial Soldiers of the Empire of the Rising Sun were fanatical warriors who dived into combat with little thoughts of their lives as they sought to slay the enemies of Japan. Its forces consisted of nationalistic and zealous army of warriors willing to lay down their lives for their godlike Emperor and his vision. The Empire of the Rising Sun ran a strictly-disciplined military that took great pride in its futuristic weaponry and ruthless tactics.

Their military actions were dictated by the Imperial Grand Stratagem.

Imperial Warriors were drawing from a vast pool of young Japanese males either through drafting or voluntary enlistment. These fanatically-loyal and well-trained warriors were armed with cutting-edge equipment. Each Imperial Warrior was unflinchingly loyal to the Emperor and adhered to the code of Bushido with them considering fighting and dying for the Emperor to be the greatest honour. These warriors were provided with fine equipment with which to do battle with their enemies. Their standard-issue uniforms provided a good compromise of protection against small-arms fire and other hazards while affording plenty of mobility. This was important because Imperial warriors were expected to be able to fight both at a range as well as in close quarters. Their primary weapon was a state-of-the-art carbine that fired superheated slugs rather than conventional bullets which cause painful lacerations and burns in unarmored targets. No shell casings or physical projectiles were left behind making residues from these weapons untraceable and reducing overall weight-of-equipment. These weapons were as yet unproven over the longer haul, though in practice they seem at least as viable as any modern rifle.

A class of infiltrator infantry deployed by the Empire were the Shinobi.

Among its millions of citizens, the Empire's socio-economic caste of so-called engineers were especially devoted to the nation's pursuit of higher technology and their own personal gain in the process. In Japanese, the term 'engineer' or Enjiniiaa had been appropriated from the same-sounding English expression for one who studies the technical sciences. The word connotes a certain moral and hierarchical superiority that simply does not translate back to the more-vocational term used in the Western world.

They made use of a high-level Imperial encoding process nicknamed Wistful Blossom.

Technology

The Japanese made use of highly advanced technology to complement their small but highly trained forces.

Weapons created by the Empire included:

  • Beam Katana :
  • MX Type-2 Kinetic Carbine :

Vehicles and other craft used by the Empire included:

  • Tsunami Tanks :
  • King Oni :
  • Mecha Tengu :
  • Sea-Wing :
  • Yari Mini-Subs :

The Empire was noted to had constructed Floating Fortresses that were massive mobile naval platforms which were the largest naval vessels in the Imperial arsenal.

They were noted as having developed cloning technology allowing them to make numerous replica's of Yuriko Omega. To further add to this biological science expertise, the Empire had also developed psionic weaponry which was seen in Both Yuriko herself and the deadly Psionic Decimator weapon which may have been powered by clones of Omega.
