For other uses of this name, see Esau (disambiguation).

In the Book of Genesis, Esau was the son of Isaac and Rebekah, twin brother of Jacob. Jacob received many of the honors due to Esau (who was technically the first-born), leading to some enmity in their youth. Later, Esau set off on his own. He has been associated with the Roman Empire.
