Biography
He was shown as being in charge of Stane International and participated in a meeting with the Universal Bank over the conduct of Dario Agger of the Roxxon Energy Corporation that had been making ventures into the Ten Realms around Asgard. (Mighty Thor v2 #8) In Wakanda, he aided in the attacks against the Black Panther where he turned insurgents into living bombs. (Black Panther v6 #6) Black Panther along with the Crew infiltrated the People's base where they battled Stane along with his allies but Zeke along with the others managed to escape. (Black Panther v6 #7) His background as a bio-engineer led to him working with Weapon Plus and he joined the ranks of Powers Enterprises where he helped in the production of an army of Nuke soldiers in the aftermath of Hydra's defeat when it had taken over the U.S.A. (Captain America v9 #3)

- The character was created by Matt Fraction's and Barry Kitson where he first appeared in The Order #8 (April 2008).
- In an interview with Fraction, he commented about Ezekial Stane that:
- "“So we’ve got this son and if you thought it was hard working for Obadiah Stane, you should try being his boy. Zeke is a Stane in name only and has had to earn everything he’s achieved. With Zeke it’s not just the Stane legacy that’s important. It’s the youth. It’s not just ‘Stane, the bad guy is back. It’s about the next generation. It’s about Tony being beaten not just by Iron Man 2.0 but Tony Stark 2.0."
- "He rejects the strategies of his father as being the crude tactics of Attila the Hun,” Fraction remarked. “His dad beat Tony at Tony’s game. Zeke is playing in an entirely different arena and much to his great horror; Tony is going to discover this a little too late."
- "Zeke is a post-national business man and kind of an open source ideological terrorist... He has absolutely no loyalty to any sort of law, creed, or credo. He doesn't want to beat Tony Stark, he wants to make him obsolete. Windows wants to be on every computer desktop in the world, but Linux and Stane want to destroy the desktop. He's the open source to Stark's closed source oppressiveness."
- "No matter how high tech or evolved, even with Extremis, the Iron Man armor is still a guy in a suit,” Fraction stated. “If you get between the man and the suit you can undo it. So Stane doesn’t need a suit. That’s the difference. That’s what we start to see, the future of Iron Man is that there’s no gap between Iron and Man. It’s one being and Stane is quite literally evolving himself and people who pay him as we see in the book’s opening."
Alternate Versions
- In What If? Age of Ultron v1 #2 (2014), an alternate version of the Age of Ultron was shown whereby Ezekial Stane inherited his father Obadiah Stane's company Stane International that acquired Stark Industries. He established an operation in the Savage Land to recover the Master Mold there and use it to build Iron Man Armors. The giant Sentinel responded to an orphan girl named by Stane as Ms. Trask whose bloodline Master Mold responded to as part of his programming. Stane's plan was thwarted by the intervention of the New Fantastic Four and the Master Mold was destroyed.

Television
- In Marvel Future Avengers, Ezekiel Stane appeared in the setting of the animated television series where he was voiced by actor . He was the son of Obadiah Stane who was locked away in the Raft for his crimes as the Iron Monger. This led to an angry Ezekiel wanting revenge against Tony Stark for locking his father away as a common criminal. He created numerous replicas of the Iron Monger to attack the city in order to draw out Iron Man with the two battling in Stane’s advanced armour.
Films
- In Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, the character made an appearance as the primary antagonist where he was voiced by Eric Bauza. He was shown as being a blonde haired individual with blue eyes who was 5'6" in height and weighed 114 lbs where he was the son of Obadiah Stane and Kelly Sue Stane both of whom were deceased. When he was young, he was constantly scolded and treated harshly by his father which meant he did not have fond memories of Obadiah. It was said that he had died in an airplane accident many years ago with Tony Stark attending the funeral but Ezekiel had inherited his fathers fortune to become a terrorist. Stane was said to had injected nanobots into his brain to make himself even more smarter and had a particular interest in techno-organic armor. He hired the Raiders to attack the launch site for Stark Industries H.O.W.A.R.D. (Hi-Definition Observation Worldwide Advanced Remote Device) that was to be launched in orbit. Stane would make an appearance at the launch site where he murdered the support crew at the site where he was confronted by Iron Man. Despite Stark's efforts, he was unable to defeat Ezekial's Technovore suit with him launching the satellite into space as part of his plan. In the confrontation, he revealed his true identity where he stated that the leaders of all fascist companies that placed their faith in high-technology were relics destined for death whilst Ezekiel himself represented the future. After being initially defeated, he was taken to the Helicarrier but the Technovore managed to release him and take control of the craft along with the satellite. In the next confrontation with Tony Stark and S.H.I.E.L.D., Ezekiel lost control over his biotech suit with the Technovores mutating his body into a monstrous rampaging beast. After the destruction of Technovore, Ezekiel was seemingly restored but he was unresponsive and went under care.

- In Iron Man 3 - The Official Game, the character appeared as an antagonist in the video-game tie-in where he was voiced by actor Tom Wayland.
- In Marvel: War of Heroes, Ezekiel Stane appeared as a playable card in the video game.
