History

The G-Virus was a synthetic viral mutagen created by Dr. William Birkin for Umbrella, Inc. Unlike its predecessor, the T-Virus, the G-Virus was a much more perfected viral strain. Where T was a degenerative toxin, G was more of a perpetual catalyst of sorts, causing its host to constantly evolve into more powerful forms (but regress mentally) following any episode of extreme physical trauma.

It also gave its host the ability to asexually reproduce by implanting embryos into other living creatures, making it possibly the ultimate bioweapon.
