Origin

George Washington Bridge

Looking to enlist, he lied about his actual age in being 17 years old which led to him joining the Army where he served in the Vietnam War. (Punisher War Journal v2 #22)

At some point, he came to join S.H.I.E.L.D. where he rose to the position of Commander. (X-Force v1 #1) Around this time, he was tracking the activities of Cable who had begun to form a paramilitary group of Mutants called X-Force. (X-Force v1 #11)

In the aftermath, Director Tony Stark came to dismiss Bridge from his position for his repeated failures. This did not stop him though from going freelance where he offered millions to bounty hunters for information on the Punishers whereabouts. (Punisher War Journal v2 #8)

After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., Bridge no longer had money to feed his new wife and her child. Abducted by some of the criminals resurrected in order to kill Castle, he was finally killed by the resurrected Microchip as a sacrifice for the resurrection of Frank Castle and Microchip's families. (Punisher v8 #10)

Despite his death, he was seemingly revived through unknown means where he became a member of the ruling board of the organization J.A.N.U.S. He attended a meeting with J.A.N.U.S.'s other leaders where they were briefed by Norman Osborn who served as their mole within the Ravencroft Institute. (Ravencroft v1 #5)
