Biography

Fatal Fury

Geese Howard (Japanese: ギース・ハワード, Hepburn: Gīsu Hawādo) was a male human born the son of an Austrian terrorist named Rudolph Von Zanac and a poor American woman named Maria Howard. After his birth, his father came to abandon him and his mother leaving him alone in Southtown in the U.S.A. He looked to support himself and his mother with Geese looking to surpass his father where he took a number of jobs around the city. Despite his efforts, his mother was noted to had died as a result of poor health and hunger. After losing her, he refused to fall into sadness and decided to track down his father where he came to learn his real name which was Rudolph Krauser Von Stroheim. Upon finding him, Geese looked to assassinate him when he was 15 years old but he was thwarted by his half-brother Wolfgang Krauser who had effortlessly stopped him. In the aftermath, he attempted to take up religion to ease his hatred but could not shake off the humiliation he felt at his loss nor his fear of his half-brother. Instead, he came to see the results of obtaining power and looked to become strong as a result. This saw him beginning to take up martial arts where he became the student of master Tung Fu Rue alongside Jeff Bogard and Cheng Sinzan. However, Geese had evil intentions that came to be noticed by his master who decided to not teach the young Howard all the secrets of his techniques with these instead going to Bogard. This came to anger Geese who wanted to take revenge against the pair for the slight and waited for the perfect opportunity. It was also said that Geese came to study martial arts under other teachers including the grandfather of Blue Mary and Toji Sakata. Years later, he came to be the police commissioner of Southtown where he secretly built a network with the local mafia through intimidation and personal bribes. He then went to overthrowing the local crime kingpin Mr. Big and thus become the reigning crime lord in the city. Geese then went about separating his mafia life from his business one leading to the construction of Geese Tower which became the operating base for his business empire Howard Connection.

Geese came to order Mr. Big to kidnap Yuri Sakazaki in order to blackmail Takuma Sakazaki into working for Howard as one of his enforcers and keep him in line. It was him who came to order Mr. Karate to fight his own son, Ryo Sakazaki. Although he was powerful, Geese had still not completely conquered South Town yet. Hoping to gain more men for his cause, he hosts the first known King of Fighters tournament. Unfortunately, he came out of the event empty-handed and was defeated by Ryo. He was able to escape and successfully defended his turf from the jealous Mr. Big. In 1981, Geese Howard kills Jeff Bogard in front of his two sons, Terry Bogard and Andy Bogard, and hires Billy Kane as his personal bodyguard. He sets up Billy as his champion in his King of Fighters tournaments. After this, he becomes acquainted with Marie Heinlein, whom he eventually marries, and has a son, Rock, in 1989. Ten years after Jeff's death, Terry, Andy, and their friend Joe Higashi enter Geese's King of Fighters tournament. Terry faces him on top of Geese Tower and defeats him by knocking him out the window. While the town presumes him to be dead, Geese was actually alive, apparently thanks to the secrets of a Chinese scroll in his possession. The scroll, called the Phoenix Scroll that was later discovered in Geese Tower and allowed the user to speed up their recovery rate. Geese came to hear that the scrolls granted immortality and began to discreetly search for them. Geese obtained all three scrolls from Jin Chonshu and Jin Chonrei. However, he strategically wants them destroyed so that they would never be used against him. In the same game, he finally announces his presence to the public and organizes another King of Fighters tournament to settle his differences with the Bogard brothers. In the tournament's climax, he faces Terry and is once again thrown from the tower. Although Terry caught hold of his nemesis' hand, Geese refused his help and wrenched his arm away from Terry's grasp, laughing while falling to his own death, for good.
