Gene Starwind is a male anime and manga character who features in Outlaw Star.

Biography

Gene Starwind (ジーン･スターウインド, Jīn Sutāuindo)

Born on Earth, Gene developed a fear of space flight and a hatred of pirates during an incident when he was a pre-teen that resulted in his father's death at the hands of the Kei Pirates. Gene himself escaped safely to Sentinel III and spent the next several years there. On Sentinel III, he met Jim Hawking, a 12-year old genius and hacker. The pair became business partners in Starwind and Hawking Enterprises, primarily as repairmen, but also accepting various odd jobs (just as long as they are within the law). As the story begins, Gene is hired as a bodyguard by a mysterious woman named by Rachell Sweet.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Gene was reckless, a ladies man (and a bit of a pervert), and prefers to try to achieve his goals easily and all at once rather than to put in hard work—all characteristics that frustrate Jim—but he can think on his feet when he needs to.

Powers and abilities

Gene was well armed with a variety of weapons such as a handgun, shotgun, knife, light shield, etc. His special weapon, a Caster gun, fires special Caster shells effective against Tao priests and other things that are protected against normal weaponry. Caster shells are considered antiques, however, and are difficult to acquire.
