Genetic Spark

The genetic spark was an event triggered by the Know Man using the powers of Doctor Destiny. The world's superheroes were rendered powerless and without memory of their superhuman identities, while the "normal" population began turning into metahumans in mass numbers. It was all part of a plan to empower humanity to deal with the threat of Mageddon; however, it also caused rampant social chaos. The Justice League of America finally remembered their true selves, and reformed to stop the spark; the effects were undone after Destiny was freed.
