Biography

William Rolfson was the son of the Apocalypse and Autumn Rolfson who served as Famine of the Horsemen of Apocalypse. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #14)

In the aftermath, the child was hidden by his mother as Autumn feared that Apocalypse would see the boy as a threat and attempt to kill him. He and his mother were later brought to the Akkaba Metropolis under the orders of Archangel who had ascended to the position of evolutionary caretaker of Mutants following the death of Apocalypse. Encased in his armour, he pledged his allegiance to Archangel and begged that his mother not be harmed for hiding his existence from the world. Archangel stated that he had no intention of hurting him and instead saw potential in the boy who accompanied him as she sought to bring about the evolutionary next step for Mutantkind. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #13)

He accompanied Archangel along with the Horsemen of Apocalypse as they confronted X-Force at Cavern-X. Wolverine came to attack Worthington causing Genocide to burn off half of Logan's body leaving him badly injured. With the threat removed, Archangel then set about achieving the goal set forth to him by the Celestials. This involved taking Genocide to a remote town in Montana where he had William destroy the entire area with his powers thus killing everyone there. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #14) Once the site was cleared, Archangel had the Weapon Plus laboratory known as the World enlarged with Dark Beast set forth in enacting their masters will. Journeying deep into the enlarged facility, Genocide was then used to power an energy dome that that was sparked with the energy of the Celestial Life Seed whilst the World's time-alteration engine created a bubble of accelerated time. This area came to be known as Tabula Rasa as a test bed for enacting across the planet. They were then attacked by X-Force with Genocide attacking Fantomex who he forced away from his lord Archangel. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #15)

With the loss of Archangel's heirs and no Death Seed, Genocide stepped in to be the new leader and caretaker to bear the mantle of Apocalypse. Thus, he commanded the Final Horsemen where they made their way to Starcore Station whilst using Ship where they intended to summon a Celestial Gardener. This was the intention of proving his worth and becoming the new caretaker of Earth and inheriting the mantle of Apocalypse. The Celestial deemed him worthy and was in the process of gifting him a Death Seed when the Gardener was slain by the Apocalypse Twins. These two children of Archangel departed with their mother and killed the other Final Horsemen as they intended to enact their own plans leading to a battle with Genocide who lost the confrontation. (Uncanny Avengers v1 #7)
