History
Hala was a planet situated in the Pama star system within the Large Magellanic Cloud. On this world, two different races evolved with these being the blue-skinned humanoids known as the Kree and the plant-like Cotati races. (Avengers v1 #133) The world was said to had been visited by a highly advanced species known as the Progenitors who accelerated the evolution of the native Kree. (Royals v1 #9) During Kree Year Zero, the planet was visited by the technologically advanced Skrull's that arrived with peaceful intentions as they sought out a race worthy of being given their knowledge. As Hala contained two such species, they decided that only one could be awarded this gift and called upon representatives from both species. They were taken to the Blue Area of the Moon that orbited Earth where they were asked to build great works of construction. Ultimately, the Cotati won the trial but the Kree decided to act and killed first the plant-like aliens before turning on the Skrulls as well as stealing their technology. They used the ship to return to Hala where they reverse engineered the technology and science to create their own empire to eventually strike at the reptilian race of shapeshifters. (Avengers v1 #133)
Their homeworld of Hala thus became the capital of the Kree empire. (Iron Man v1 #278)
The ruling forces of House Fiyero came to secretly forge an alliance with the Annihilation Wave in order to spare themselves from the invasion leading to Ronan leading a group of volunteers to attacking Hala to depose the commerce rulers of the empire. During this time, the Annihilation Wave dispatched Ravenous and the Centurions to assist their new allies but they were defeated but they managed to teleport away. Ronan then proceeded to execute House Fiyero for treason and came to learn of the state of the Supreme Intelligence where the Accuser destroyed his containment chamber as an act of mercy as the living computer had been left in a living death state to which it could never be repaired. (Annihilation v1 #5)
After the Cancerverse threat had ended, reconstruction efforts began across space to repair the damage that occurred during the recent conflicts. However, during this time, Blastaar broke the peace by attacking Hala and striking at Attilan itself. This brought him before the Inhumans where he intended to lay claim to the throne by taking it from Queen Medusa. He along with his forces managed to overwhelm the defenders but were then confronted by a new team of heroes called the Annihilators that were charged with defending the universe from galactic threats. Together, they came to defeat Blastaar and thus save Hala from being conquered by the attackers. (Thanos Imperative: Devastation v1 #1)
When the Phoenix Force headed to Earth, the Supreme Intelligence intended to allow the world to be destroyed for a chance to capture the cosmic energy force to be used to allow the Kree empire to rule for millennia. Thus, he tasked Noh-Varr with stealing a fragment of the Phoenix from the Avengers where he came to Hala to give it to his people. However, upon learning of the Supremor intending to let the Earth be destroyed, Noh-Varr petitioned for aid to let mankind survive the destruction. Ultimately, the Supreme Intelligence refused and Noh-Varr turned on the Kree leading to his exile from Hala. For his betrayal of the Avengers, they too stripped him of his membership and banned him from Earth thus leading to Noh-Varr having to go on the run on Hala where he sought a ship to escape the planet. (Avengers v4 #27)
A lone Accuser survived the destruction of Hala and vowed revenge against the Guardians of the Galaxy for the perceived role in the destruction of her homeworld. (Guardians of the Galaxy v4 #2)
Afterwards, the Kree empire began to operate from some of its other colonies such as Kree-Pama. (Starbrand & Nightmask v1 #2)
Noh-Varr suggested that a means of finding the origins of the Terrigen Mists resided on the ruined Hala with the Inhuman Royal Family heading to it on-board the Astarion. (Royals v1 #4) Once there, the were attacked by Ronan who was the only survivor of the cataclysm that destroyed his homeworld where he came to blame the Inhumans for the devastation of Hala. After defeating him, Noh-Varr used a Plex Seed to use the remains of the Supremor as raw material to create a new Supreme Intelligence and re-organise his people into a new Kree empire. (Royals v1 #5)
Following the formation of the Kree/Skrull Alliance, the sacred ruins of Hala came to renamed as Throneworld II that was to be their new capital world. During this time, the Progenitors forcing the Alliance's emperor Hulkling called forth a planetary evacuation whilst he and his consort Wiccan battled the invaders that were taking Kree to be mutated by their experiments. The Guardians of the Galaxy arrived on the scene where they helped defeat the Progenitors and warned them from further attacks on the cosmos. The Guardians were they investigating the recent attack by the Progenitors when they were ambushed by Doctor Doom who had taken an interest in galactic affairs. (Guardians of the Galaxy v6 #13) Afterwards, a ritual was used that turned Ego the Living Planet into a vessel for the Dread Dormammu allowing him to manifest in the universe. From then, he ushered in an infinite army of Mindless Ones to invade all of space with some of these forces attacking the Alliance's throneworld of Hala. (Guardians of the Galaxy v6 #16) Later on, the Kree/Skrull Alliance throneworld came under attack from the Mekkans who were armed with Watcher level technology by the Reckoning. (Fantastic Four v6 #42)

- Gon-Ket Glacier : located in the southern pole that was a ritual palace created by Kree ice smiths making it into a site where dynastic ceremonies were conducted by tradition. (War of Kings v1 #1)

- Harfax : the largest industrial city-state situated approximately a thousand miles from the capital and was home to the Hecnic Valt precious metal salvaging center. (Captain America v1 #398)
- Kree-Lar : the capital city on the planet. (Captain America v1 #398)

Hala served as the headquarters of the galaxy-spanning Kree empire. As their civilization became far-flung, few Kree in the empire actually beheld the world or its giant star Pama that served as the planetary system's sun. (Captain Marvel v1 #16)
The Kree empire placed an artificial ring of defensive space mines around their homeworld along with enemy detecting sub-sonic crystals. (Captain Marvel v1 #3) Hala's planetary ring was composed of satellites that operated as a defensive system with an damaged elements of the grid being repaired. (Quasar v1 #35)

In other media
Television
- In Silver Surfer, the Kree homeworld made an appearance in the animated series where it was referred to as Kree-Lar. The episode "The Forever War" showed the Silver Surfer going to Kree-Lar in order to consult the Supreme Intelligence about the location of Zenn-La.
- In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Hala made an appearance in the second of the animated series in the episode "Live Kree or Die". The Avengers sought to stop the invasion of Earth by the Kree Empire leading to several superheroes falling through a wormhole onto Hala's surface. During a battle with the Kree military, they managed to fight their way to the Supreme Intelligence and defeat the Supremor whereupon Mar-Vell became the new leader of the Kree Empire.
- In Guardians of the Galaxy, Hala was mentioned in the episode "Hitchin' a Ride" where it was referred to as the homeworld of the Kree and held a population of billions. The Cosmic Seed empowered Symbiotes had set a course towards Hala in order to infect it's populace but were destroyed by the Guardians of the Galaxy.
- In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hala was referred to by name in the live-action television series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kassius stated that even on Hala that they did not have a view as that outside the Lighthouse.
Films
- In Captain Marvel, Hala appeared in the setting of the 2019 live-action film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was shown as being the centre of the Kree empire and was the home of the Supreme Intelligence that guided them. In 1995, it was shown that an amnesiac Carol Danvers was brought to Hala where she came to believe she was a Kree warrior called Vers who served under Yon-Rogg.
