Biography

Heihachi Mishima was the son of Jinpachi Mishima who was a famous martial artists that founded the Mishima Zaibatsu company. Jinpachi maintained a dojo where Heihachi trained and it was during this time he encountered another younger student by the name of Kazumi Mishima. The pair trained into their adulthood and eventually fell in love with the pair marrying. Years later, Kazumi gave birth to a son that was named Kazuya Mishima where during one night he awoke to find his wife seemingly possessed and she attacked him. She intended to kill him as she was claimed by the power of the Devil Gene and stated that she had married into the Mishima family to destroy them. Heihachi resisted the attempts to kill her but ultimately decided to murder her due to the danger she possessed to the world. Afterwards, he overthrew his father and forcibly took control of the Mishima Zaibatsu where he sought to establish it as an industrial company. His father would attempt to retake the business but Heihachi would quickly captured him and imprison him within the Mishima company at Hon-Maru where Jinpachi was left to starve to death. When Kazuya was five years old, he came to fear that the boy could have inherited the Devil Gene from his mother. To determine whether the boy had the gene, Heihachi threw the boy off a ravine in order to see whether he inherited that power. Heihachi believed that if the child was truly his son than he would be able to survive and climb back up. At some point, Heihachi had an affair with a woman that gave birth to Lars Alexandersson with this illegitimate child being an attempt to see whether he had the Devil Gene whereupon he did not have any contact with his other son. To further motivate Kazuya, he would adopt the orphaned Chinese boy Lee Chaolan and raise him as a rival to his own biological son. Kazuya would manage to survive the experience and travelled abroad over he following years where he competed in various martial arts championships. During these competitions, he became the undefeated champion in all the engagements except one where he fought to a draw against Paul Phoenix. Eventually, Heihachi decided to test his son Kazuya's strength and worthy by announcing the King of Iron Fist Tournament.
