Hemophages are infected Humans that feature in the movie Ultraviolet.

Background

Hemophages are Humans that display vampiric qualities due to exposure to an infectious disease known as Hemoglophagia. The blood of a Hemophage is enough to cause a person to become infected. These individuals develop super-human attributes which was similar to stories of the powers of vampires. This caused fear and superstition to arise among the Human populace.

These infected individuals can be easily identified by their better metabolisms, the capacity to repair their bodies on a microcellular level and far better reflexes combined with a higher level of strenght. It is, however, possible to mask these genetic enhancements through meta-suppressants.

The Hemophages are fighting a blood war against the Arch-Ministry.
