Origin
The New 52
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
In the past, he passed the twin brother of Diana to the immortal Glaucus so that the boy could be raised away in secret. (Wonder Woman v5 #32) When the boy learnt of his heritage then Glaucus called upon Hercules help to train the child in combat with Jason becoming an apt pupil. (Wonder Woman v5 #35) At some point, Hercules began to operate as a mortal where he assumed the identity of a man named Paul Jackson who lived a solitary existence near a town. He was then attacked by Grail forcing him to transform into his true form but he was ultimately killed with his power claimed to be used to restore Darkseid to his true form. After his death, he had left behind his fortune which he entrusted to his half-sister Wonder Woman with his attorntey meeting with her. (Wonder Woman v5 #31)

By the modern age, he said he was not one for crowds and people with him seeking solitude so he did not have to think about the things he had done in the past. (Wonder Woman v5 #35)
