Biography
IG-88 was a bounty hunter droid who was among those hired by Darth Vader to retrieve the crew of the Millennium Falcon.

Alternate Versions
- In Star Wars Legends, IG-88A received a largely different backstory where he was revealed as one of four assassin droids created as Project Phlutdroid. After activation, he killed his creators at Hollowan Laboratories' and implanted copies of his mind in the other three IG-88 series bodies creating IG-88B, IG-88C and IG-88D. He believed he was superior to organic life and intended to wipe out biological entities from the galaxy where he operated as a bounty hunter whilst looking to achieve his goal.
