Jadzia Dax is a female extraterrestrial character who features in Star Trek.

Biography

Jadzia Dax

She later learnt of Curzon Dax's deteriorating health and requested that she receive the Dax symbiont after his death. Jadzia came to be approved for a joining and in 2367 she underwent the joining to the symbiont. It was during her zhian'tara that she learnt that Curzon's reasons for rejecting her original application were personal as he had actually fallen in love with Jadzia. (DS9: Facets)

In 2369, the 28 year old Lieutenant Jadzia Dax was assigned as science officer aboard Deep Space 9 under the command of Benjamin Sisko who had been a friend of Curzon. Shortly after her assignment to the station, Jadzia and Sisko discovered the Bajoran Wormhole which opened a new era of discovery in Federation history. (DS9: Emissary)

Later that year, Jadzia stood trial for crimes that Curzon had allegedly committed during the Klaestron Civil War. During this time, Jadzia had been willing to accept a guilty verdict in order to protect the honor of Curzon and Enina Tandro though she was ultimately cleared of the charges. (DS9: Dax)

Personality and attributes

Jadzia was very comfortable with her own sense of self. Garak would describe her as being a vital person who was alive with her owning herself. (DS9: Afterimage)

She was shown to had enjoyed playing tongo with Quark and the other Ferengi on the station. She claimed that, while Kira was right about the Ferengi being greedy misogynistic trolls who could not be trusted, once you accepted that they could be a lot of fun. (DS9: Rules of Acquisition)

Sisko would note that whilst Curzon Dax was his mentor that Jadzia Dax was his friend. (DS9: Tears of the Prophets)
