Jiro Torohata was the president of Happy Enterprises. Young and ambitious, Torohata was described as being very influential and having several politicians in his pocket. An exploiter, he and his partner Kumayama purchased a gigantic egg that washed ashore in Japan, planning to make billions of dollars by charging people to see it, little knowing that the egg belonged to Mothra. He eventually doublecrossed Kumayama and killed him, planning to escape with all of the money when Godzilla made his appearance. Before Torohata could get out of his hotel however, it was destroyed by Godzilla and he perished.
