Justice Lords
The Justice Lords are the counterparts of the Justice League from an alternate universe. In that universe, Lex Luthor was elected President of the United States, causing an unidentified large-scale calamity as well as the death of the Flash. In response, the Justice League invaded the White House, and Superman killed Luthor. Deciding that the world had to be conquered to save it, the Justice League- renaming themselves the Justice Lords- took over Earth, transforming it into a global police state.
Two years later, the Justice Lords' Batman discovered an alternate universe where Lex Luthor was still a threat- the universe of the "mainstream" Justice League. Deciding to impose their order on that world as well, the Justice Lords tricked the Justice League, imprisoning them in their world and initiating plans to take over the League's Earth. One of the Lords' first actions upon arrival was battling Doomsday- the Justice Lords' Superman defeated the creature via heat-vision lobotomy, shocking onlookers.
Eventually, the Justice League escaped (thanks in large part to the Flash), and the Justice Lords' Batman was convinced by the "mainstream" Batman that the Justice Lords' approach was wrong. Returning to their world, the League engaged their counterparts in battle, and won thanks to a most unlikely ally- Lex Luthor. In exchange for a pardon, Luthor developed a weapon that neutralized the Justice Lords' powers, leaving them angry but defeated.
