Kalibak is a male comic character who features in DC Comics.

Biography

Origin

Kalibak was the son of Darkseid. He frequently sought to prove himself in his father's eyes, but never seemed to really succeed. Kalibak was titanically strong.

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

  • In the DC Animated Universe, Kalibak made a number of appearances in the shared continuity setting.
    • In Justice League Unlimited, Kalibak made an appearance in the episode "The Ties That Bind" where he was once again voiced by actor Michael Dorn. Following Darkseid's death, civil war had erupted on Apokolips with Virman Vundabar kidnapping him in order to consolidate his rule over the planet from Granny Goodness. Kalibak was kept within the X-Pit where Vundabar attempted to brainwash him but Granny Goodness had coerced Mister Miracle and Big Barda along with the Flash to rescue him. He was freed by the heroes but was angry at the fact that he had to be rescued by his enemies. They freed him but kept him elsewhere until Granny Goodness had freed her captive who was Oberon who was being used to force Mister Miracle to perform the rescue.
  • In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Kalibak appeared in the animated television series in the episode "The Knights of Tomorrow!" where he was voiced by actor Michael-Leon Wooley.
  • In Justice League Action, Kalibak appeared in the animated television series in the episode "Superman's Pal, Sid Sharp" where he was voiced by actor Piotr Michael.
  • In Young Justice, Kalibak appeared in the setting of the animated television series third season Outsiders where he was voiced by actor Dee Bradley Baker.

Films

  • In Justice League: Gods and Monsters, an alternate version of Kalibak appeared in the setting of the animated film in a non-voiced role.

Video games

  • In DC Universe Online, Kalibak made an appearance in the MMORPG where he could be seen at the Hall of Doom to recruit villain players to attack New Genesis.
  • In Injustice 2, Kalibak was referenced in Darkseid's dialogue in the fighting video game where it was said he was killed by Superman.
