Kate Chapman was Karl Stromburg's secretary aboard Atlantis. She betrayed her boss and sold the microfilm of his submarine tracking system to Max Kalba and Aziz Fekkesh. Upon discovering this, Stromburg killed Chapman by dropping her through a trapdoor in his elevator into his aquarium where she was eaten by his pet tiger shark. Her severed hand was later seen inside the aquarium by a visiting James Bond, which helped to alert the agent to his host's less than noble intentions.

Kate Chapman is called simply Stromburg's Secretary in the film credits of The Spy Who Loved Me.
